Mono Prints and Mixed Media

Jeremy Dickerson is a print artist based in Columbia, South Carolina, with roots in Puerto Rico. His work captures the essence of lived experience — each layer and texture representing places he’s been, things he’s seen, and lessons he’s learned along the way.

Through multilayer mono printing, Jeremy blends experimentation and abstract compositions that carry both movement and memory. His pieces often reflect the rhythm of travel, the beauty of imperfection, and the quiet reflection found in everyday life.

Each print is a visual journal — a record of time, texture, and emotion —

What is Mono Gel Printing?

Mono gel printing is a form of printmaking that combines texture, and acrylic paint in a one-of-a-kind way. Using a soft gel plate, layers of acrylic paint or ink are placed down and allowed to dry before moving on to the next layer. Designs are built by adding and removing texture. Some prints can take a few days and contain over 10 layers. Often the painting is done in reverse.

Once the surface is ready, paper is pressed onto the plate to transfer the image. The result is a monoprint — a single, unique print that can never be exactly reproduced.

Each piece carries its own mood and texture, often revealing unexpected details and layered effects. Gel printing bridges painting and printmaking, allowing for experimentation, happy accidents, and deeply personal expression.
